But mine is tucked away in the corner of a living room, plenty of soft surfaces to absorb sound. But here's the thing about this shield. It is not too heavy. In fact, I have it mounted on a good strong scissor arm stand which is clamped to my (admittedly quite heavy) bookshelf. It works a treat, I simply rotate the arm into a semi-fold position, close the screen a little (it folds inward, around the mic) and there you are . I should also add that it is not difficult to assemble, there's a bracket and various screw threads to help you, honestly it took me 10 minutes to put together on my scissor arm. Sound quality? I have a *very* good set of headphones and have listened to playback and while it's obviously not as completely 'dead' as it would be in a proper studio, it is certainly good enough for most broadcast/voice over purposes. Practice a bit of mic technique, and don't get your mouth too far away or your voice will "throw" all over the place. Team it up with a good pop screen, too. Thoroughly recommended.
