These are not like chain male, as I expected, but they are sturdy and easy to wear, some kind of fabric that protects hands. i just used them with a new peeler I bought that is very sharp, and glad I did. That peeler would have left me wounded, but it sure worked well on my potatoes! They come in a pair but fit either or both hands. They are washable and seem durable.
