Back in October, when the temperature dropped 30 overnight from a high in the 80's or 90's, I did find water on the inside of the cover. Literally, on the cover and not the futon except where the cover touched it. This was condensation caused by heat from the concrete patio on the underside of the cover and cool night air on top. It has vents to prevent this, but the cover is larger than my futon and reaches to the concrete, plus some. Hard to release the warm air, when there's no airflow underneath. I do think there is about 5 inches wiggle room, it probably just depends on the overall size of your furniture frame. Mine has a good amount of slack in all directions.
