I just keep them as clean water when working with metallic and pearlescent watercolours. The water leaks straight out of the side where it screws on, moreso than through the brush. This happens on all of the large flat brushes and 3 of the smaller & medium brushes. They also have very poor control when painting and releases FAR too much water, even with watercolours it's too much.
