I only recommend this hose to those who have extra cash to ...

I purchased the Pirit 50' hose first. The hose lasted 13 months (which is really only 3 months of use. The hose worked the first winter then was put away and the hose worked twice the following winter. I could find no support on the product, no way to fix or replace parts, no response from the company. Chores were faster with the heated hose so I purchased a second hose only 25 ' this time since they are so expensive. This hose lasted 12 months and one week (4 months of actual use). I only recommend this hose to those who have extra cash to spend. I hope that people will take this review very seriously. I am not the type of person to write a frivolous complaint but I do not want to see others exploited like I feel I was

I would not recommend this product to anyone that has cold winters

I have a farm in Maine and need to water cattle on a daily basis. I have bought four of these hoses over the years- only because it seems to be one of the only products on the market and I prefer to buy through Amazon. All of them freeze up when the temperature drops slightly below freezing. Three of the four have flat out died. I would not recommend this product to anyone that has cold winters. I always end up dragging five gallon buckets to the cow pen. Not much fun with 100+ gallons a day.The design is also poor. Linking two hoses up requires running an electric cord to the middle of the connection- another hassle when there's snow on the ground.I recommend the five gallon buckets or running out old fashioned garden hoses and bringing them back into the heated garage when done. It is a lot cheaper and you won't lose you mind every winter.

I received this hose today. Here is my first impression.... If your RV has its water inlet inside a compartment, per the directions, this hose will not function properly. The issue is the thermostat is located about 12" down from the male end of the hose. That's the end that connects to the RV. If the thermostat is in a compartment of any kind, the compartment will likely be heated either directly or indirectly and the temperature inside the compartment will not drop low enough to activate the heating element in the hose, which means your heated hose will freeze. Overall, the hose appears to be of good quality, just a poor design for my use. There are fittings available on Amazon that will allow you to reverse the fittings on the hose, thereby moving the thermostat outside near the water faucet and the plug near the RV water inlet. Beware, the fittings required to make this change may not be certified for drinking water use. And as the folks in Flint Michigan now know, "There is no safe level of lead in drinking water." The hose and its fittings are certified for drinking water use.
