The Shimano hydraulic replacement fitted directly onto the old BB5 rear bracket. As it was my rear brake I was replacing luckily I didn't have to shorten the hydraulic cable, just used a slight loop in front of handlebars to take up the spare and a couple cable ties to secure it. Perform very well and because dual pistons they self adjust as they wear, unlike the old mechanical brake. Superb value at just over £20.
