This is pretty simple but occasionally I end up turning it the wrong way or the carabiner is aligned in a different way so may take a couple tries to twist in the right direction. For this reason, I expect that if one-handed operation or quick disconnect is needed then this is probably not the perfect carabiner for you. Yes, it can be opened with one hand but it's clumsy if it's not in the right orientation when you try. Strength is fine.
