Though, when my set dried out pretty hard (the cover is poorly designed and not air tight) I no longer have the nice jelly consistancy and it works only for small paintings. Buy this set for practice...if you want to make larger paintings or want true gouache consistency after 8 months, buy more expensive artist gouache. **Q: Is the jelly cup resealable?** A: No, but the whole palette is airtight when it is closed so you don't have to worry about the gouache drying out. The gouache very nicely creates a jelly-like film on top, it does harden but doesn't dry out and crack. The cover snaps onto it very well and has a good seal. The quality of the paint is nice and thick! It shows up well on black paper too. Overall: TOTALLY WORTH IT. Give it a try, I think that you may really enjoy it. It is aesthetically pleasing and also functional. I know some reviews say that it would not be ideal to travel, but if you let the jelly dry a little and keep the case flat it would work! I also received some brushes, which are great! I totally love them.
