I don’t know what the BT-C2000 unit does. **Q: with the opus bt c2400 what reading tells me that the battery is dead and no longer able to hold a charge worth using in my speed light flash?** A: I don't know if it has a "dead" battery code. However, it will tell you what the current charge is in mAH. For example my AA batteries are 2300 mAH. However, after battery charges the display will tell me that it was able to charge the batteries to 1800 mAH. I assume when it hits below 900 mAH (50%), it is time to change them out. There is a refresh+charge mode. I have done this a couple of times and it made a difference. i.e current full charge is 1000 mAH, after refresh full charge is 1800mAH. They use basically the same charge algorithms for NiMH cells. The C3400 also has greater charge current capability. It can charge at 2000 mA on two channels. **Q: Does it allow to charge nearly drained batteries (with the low voltage left, less than 0.5v) or still reports "null" on them, like its predecessors?** A: You can put 0V batteries into a dumb charger, and if they can take a charge, 10 - 15 mins should be sufficient to put in enough charge to be recognized by a smart charger.
