One of the best tools I have ever invested in! **Q: Will this work to cut cattails?** A: I believe it would. We have cut forsythias and burning bushes with this many times. It has been a great tool for us. **Q: Are the blades replaceable or may they be removed for sharpening?** A: I suspect you could purchase replacement blades from Makita.
