You don't want to be rough putting this in because you may damage plastic threads. The only down side is the white position line on the switch will not line up with the off, low, medium, high selections. It doesn't matter because it still selects the speeds you want, it just doesn't align with this fan. Most important part of this is the wires slide into the slots so there is no soldering required. Just use a small nail to push down on the copper to remove each wire from your old switch. Before you remove the wires write down the wiring color to the corresponding number on the switch. For the Master Fan it's Black wire to L port, red wire to port 3, white wire to port 2 and blue wire to port 1. I suspect this order applies to all 4 wire switches.
