I was skeptical about the handles, however they almost feel like horn, and are getting burnished with use to a very attractive finish.Bought some cheap knives when I first moved to graduate school, never again. Blades wobbled and eventually broke. I am used to Henkel knives back home, which are fantastic but pricey. This set is very good quality for the price, for someone who wants to enjoy cooking but has a budget.
