Review: Phenomenal quality - We've already used this multiple times in the last ten days. I'm most pleased with the even heat distribution in the thick reinforced base. No burnt kernels at all. When used with organic popcorn, the taste is unmatched. The handle is easy to turn. It cleans up easily after each use with handwashing. Obliviously, you don't want to put any part of this in a dishwasher. It is 2x thicker than the aluminum one we had years ago. It fits together very tightly. It is incredibly durable and you can pour out popped corn nuts cycle without the thing falling apart. (I still hold both sides with potholders but my old one wasn't secure at all). This is a vast improvement over the cheap ones.
Review: I wish I could give this 10 stars! - I love popcorn. Air-popped, stove popped, even microwave in a pinch, but most of all, I love movie theater popcorn. I go to the movies, not to sit next to strangers coughing and talking, but because that is where I can get the best popcorn. Then I discovered that Disney World sells it, and you can buy a reuseable bucket for $10, and refill it with delicious movie theater style popcorn for $1.50 forever after. We live in central Florida and have passes, so bye-bye movie theaters as I could now get my fix at Disney almost weekly! Then....Covid-19 arrived, and months have gone by with no end in sight to my craving for crunchy, salty, tasty movie theater popcorn. Ugh! So I began to think that there must be something I can do about this. Thank goodness for desertcart! With a little bit of research, my dilemma was solved, crisis averted, and I can now sit at home getting happily fat on as much movie theater popcorn as my heart desires! Check out my other reviews for the future Keto bars and shakes I'll be living on once I get my fill of popcorn! Ha! Seriously, I hunted around looking for what would be the best system for achieving perfect results and flavor for specifically movie theater style popcorn. I already own 2 air poppers, which I love, but it's a completely different result. I looked at several types of popping devices and decided on this one because it looked like good quality, being stainless steel and heavier than the aluminum ones. I don't like burned popcorn. This popper is heavy, sturdy, and pops perfect popcorn without any burning. It is extremely easy to clean, just wipe it out after using (and cooling down) with a cloth and it's good to go. It has 3 places on the lid where it snaps on to the pot securely, and this is fantastic because as soon as the popcorn is finished, you can pick up the pot by the wood handle without needing potholders, and with the one unsecured flap on the top, you can dump the fresh, hot popcorn into a bowl. The top also has 4 little vents that face in toward the center of the pot so that as steam and little droplets of oil escape, it is kept to a minimum and doesn't spray out onto the stove, or the person making the popcorn. The top also has all metal gears, and a stirring mechanism for the bottom of the pot to stir the popcorn around as it pops so that you can avoid burning it. This works great for moving the popcorn. I have made popcorn 3 times in 2 days, and every time I get almost every kernal popped, and no burning at all. So, here is my perfect recipe for popcorn that tastes even better than movie theater popcorn. Better because of the quality of the actual popcorn with no hulls attaching to your teeth, and in my case probably a bit more oil than normal because I have no pump for adding extra oil on after finishing, so it's all with the popped corn - but trust me, it's the perfect amount! I'm not saying it won't kill you eventually, but if you have to go, death by carb loaded fatty popcorn is my choice! Anyway... 3 TBSP Butter Flavored Coconut Oil - I bought Golden Barrel Butter Flavored Coconut Oil ($9.97/desertcart) scant 1/2 tsp Flavacol Popcorn Salt - This is necessary and the secret to perfect flavor - ($7.80/desertcart) 1/4 cup good quality popcorn - I bought Amish Country 2-2lb bags Purple Popcorn Kernals ($12.99/desertcart) Turn stove on high, add oil, salt and popcorn. When it starts popping, slowly turn the crank to move popcorn around and when the popping slows to just a couple still popping, remove and keep stirring for about 20-30 seconds to make sure you get as many popped as possible, then carefully pour into a bowl and enjoy. 1/4 cup of popcorn makes a perfect amount for 2 people (or exactly enough for me). The pot makes 1/2 cup at a time and the instructions will tell you that, and to make it along with 3 tbsp oil. I did that the first time and it was a LOT of popcorn! Good for a family of 4 (but yeah, I did eat it all but it took me about an hour and a half, lol). the next time I decided to cut the popcorn amount in half but keep the 3 tbsp oil, and it is the perfect combination. Happy popping everyone!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where is this product made?**
A: I would assume somewhere over seas but it doesn't matter imo. It's good quality and makes very tasty popcorn. I use butter oil to cook the kernels in and as a topping.

**Q: Is the popcorn maker magnetized**
A: The stainless version I purchased from Amazon is magnetic and works well on our induction cooktop.

**Q: Are the gears made of plastic or metal? All these poppers look the same. We had one that looked like this but the plastic gears didn't last long.**
A: The gears are metal. Do not let that fool you into thinking that this is a quality product. The fit on the parts is horrible. It took 15 - 20 minutes of bending pieces to make it work acceptably -- the gears did not mesh properly and would slip if there was any resistance. And the stirrer did not reach the bottom of the pan, so it skipped over the popcorn. Buy an original Whirley Pop. Last time I checked, it was the same price. We had one for 15+ years. The only reason we replaced it with this product was because the lid's hinge broke. The nylon gears still showed NO wear after all that usage. I ended up buying some small galvanized hinges to repair the Whirley Pop and tossed the Cook N Home in storage.

**Q: My popper's stirring rod doesn't reach far down enough to stir the kernels, so the popcorn comes out burnt. Has anyone else experienced this problem?**
A: Have not experienced the issue you have. Mine works perfectly in that respect, the rod is of length it should be however, I sometimes need to adjust the 2 sweeps connected at the bottom of the rod that stirs the kernels. Perhaps you can try that to solve you issue. Otherwise I would contact the seller and send it back providing your purchase date is within the AMAZON return window. It's a great popper and is significantly better than the thin bottom aluminum poppers I have been purchasing every couple of years since the 90's. I am on my second one like this and the only issue I have is the inside bottom of the popper stains with oil and heat.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent popcorn popper!
*by T***N on December 28, 2025*

I purchased this stainless steel popcorn popper to replace my old aluminum one after switching to an induction range. The design and style are exactly the same, which I loved, but the stainless steel construction makes it induction-compatible—and it works perfectly. I’m very impressed with the quality of this popper. It’s solid, well-built, and feels much sturdier than my previous aluminum version. Everything fits together nicely, and it has a durability that makes me confident it will last for many years. If you’re moving to an induction cooktop or just want a more robust, long-lasting popcorn popper, this is an excellent upgrade. I’m extremely pleased with this purchase.
