(Would be thefts if it was unlocked). As it is made of aluminum, It will not stop a actual theft if it were attempted, as aluminum is much weaker than most common tools (Typically made of steel).-Its more of a lock to deter would be thief's basically. Won't stop a actual thief from cutting it if they attempted. Most locks work in this manner, but some simply take longer than others. Most thief's would rather go for a cable tie lock than this lock anyways.-A bolt cutter is going to destroy this U-Lock like its made of cardboard. Seriously, Go for a stronger U-lock if your looking for actual protection. Though I only bought it for short errands with the intention to deter snatch and grabs. Not to mention it's really late wait so I can carry it in my bag or on me easily.
