Is that true?** A: To the best of my understanding the liner is stainless steel with a non-stick coating called Polyfon made by Daikin. The coating is supposedly safe and contains no BPA's, unlike Teflon. It is probably applied to prevent the build-up of mineral deposits or stains over time. My thermos is now 3 years old and is as good as the day I bought it. If it cost twice as much as it does it would still be a bargain, in my opinion.
