Yes, thick paper "pulp" product (that's what the package says). They are not washable and absorb everything. I can't believe I just paid to line my shelves with paper. I thought they were plastic liners that were reusable and washable. Next time I'll just put paper towels at the bottom of my fridge like I usually do. These are more expensive than so many other fridge liners but they're not reusable like others and I found them very hard to trim. They're also nowhere near as brightly-colored as the photos suggest. I bought sets of the blue and the green and they're both like a drab, kind of depressing color. The biggest drawback to this product is when the coasters are put on the glass shelves they block the light that would come through the glass and it makes the fridge darker.
