The reason my headline says not just for the beach was due to us carrying them in our personal item backpacks on the plane. We all shared one checked bag so we needed to save the weight for clothes so we decided to carry the chairs with us. The chair is very long and you can do this a few times and still have plenty of room. I would (and have) recommend these to anyone! Carry them with you when you think you might need a nap! First time it was sat on, the seam blew out immediately. 165lb, did not jump on it, was not rough. Had them replace it with the exact same hoping it was a lemon. Unfortunately we didn't try it right away, because the exact same thing happened with the replacement.
