The one I currently have is too fast on the first speed.** A: Yes. It definitely has a slow speed. It has a speed arrow that allows speeds from 1-10. It will give you many speeds to choose from. I love this machine. **Q: Are the gears metal or plastic?** A: Plastic. There is a picture of the gears (busted) within the ratings. Plastic is quieter but it is cheaper engineering solution and you sacrifice durability. Honestly it will hard to find a retail mixer with metal gears. This is a decent LOW duty/LOW power hand mixer, i.e. cake mix, light batters, single batch of cookies. **Q: Two questions: 1, Where is this mixer manufactured? It used to be in the US. 2 What is the wattage?** A: The wattage is 108. 120 volts X 0.9 amps= 108 Watts **Q: I keep buying hand mixers and the second beater does not stay in. Does anyone know if they have this problem?** A: Every mixer I have ever owned, will do that…if you do not put the right beater in first. Refund requested on 16th December and no-one has contacted me yet even after 20 days ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great hand mixer *by D***. on 21 December 2023* I normally used a stand mixer in the past but this demanded a lot of counter space as well as moving a heavy piece of equipment to do my mixing. In the interest of space and ease of cleaning I decided to purchase a hand mixer. I've now used this hand mixer to make a large variety of baked goods, from muffins, to cakes, some frosting and even bread. The mixer has a great number of speeds which is perfect for not flinging ingredients all over your counters. Additionally the interface to change the speeds is easy to use and very intuitive which is wonderful for times where you may want to start the mixing slow but then speed it up after the ingredients have begun to be incorporated with one and other. The mixer also came with a lot of attachments out of the box, the beaters are great for batters and frostings. However I was pleasantly surprised to see a pair of dough hooks and a whisk. I haven't used the whisk yet but the dough hooks! let me tell you what, I never expected a hand mixer to be able to handle dough as well as this thing does. Such a small tool was able to handle enough dough for me to make two pizzas without even having to break out a stand mixer or manually knead at all. Lastly the hand mixer also came with some nice add-ons like a bag that's able to hold all the attachments which will certainly help with not misplacing them.. or at least keeping them together so you're not digging through drawers for one of the two beaters. There is also a great rubber strap on the cord for the hand mixer which helps hold the cord in a shortened bundled state rather than completely uncoiled.
