The ground glass stopper sits firmly in place during use. The lip catches drips and the whole thing can be washed which is the feature that attracted me to it in the first place. The glass is certainly robust enough not to break easily (unless it is dropped on the floor) and when filled with oil is a comfortable weight. The amount of oil it dispenses is controllable and it looks nice too.
