It is pitched lower than an A and higher than a G. Like all Big River harmonicas it is loud and sounds, IMO, as good as any 10 hole harp in its key. I bought a lot of BR harps years ago, when they were nine dollars each. I am so glad I did. I play the harp mainly from a holder (with my guitars). I've been doing that for over 60 years. The Big Rivers are a little thick for some holders. Often I will put old Marine Band covers on them to make them fit better. The funny thing about the review process for this harmonica is that the software wants to know if it is "sheer" enough to suit me.
