I got the quartz one as I wanted something reasonably priced and did not need constant winding during downtime. It's very understated and simple. That being said, the quality is good and of all the watches I have, it's got one of the clearest dials for telling the time; bold white numbers on a black background. It came with the brown strap (which is excellent quality) but I changed it to a black leather strap for a more muted look. (Also because I'm a big fan of Bullitt and wanted to (sort of) replicate Mcqueen's watch in that movie). Granted movie-watch nuts will scream it's not the exact same watch! etc etc, yes I know that, just wanted a similar looking timepiece. Movie references aside, its a nice simple watch, no regrets, very happy with it and recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice watch *by H***2 on Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2009* Looks nice, but the band was too short for my massive wrist. One thing I didn't like about the watch is the second hand (which is really the 3rd hand, that indicates seconds) does a "loose bounce" occasionally, as it sweeps around the dial (like you might see on a large wall clock that has a "3rd" hand). Did that qualify for a run-on sentence? Not a very good indication of a high quality movement. It does keep good time, however. Woulda like to have found a screw in crown instead of the standard pull/pop out style. Glad I bought it instead of the Seiko or Citizens. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Photo doesn't lie *by S***L on Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2008* The watch is exactly as pictured in the photograph. It's not too big, not too small, but it's definitely a man's watch. I find the color combination of the black face, silver case and brown leather band to be classy and casual. Thanks to another reviewer I was not surprised by the unpleasant smell of the leather band. I still don't understand it, but out of the box the smell is imperceptible. However, as you wear the watch you begin to notice the odor and it gets to the point where the smell becomes overpowering. This watch band has the power of two brand new pairs of leather shoes and a leather jacket. A month later the smell is almost gone, but I thought I wasn't going to make it. If it wasn't for the odor issue, I would have given this watch 5 stars because I got exactly what I wanted when I ordered this Hamilton.
