It DOES NOT adequately protect the corners of the phone in a drop. I've had smartphones for years, and I'm a klutz, so I regularly drop them. I have never actually cracked a screen until I got this case. First drop, hit a corner, small crack. Today, second drop, in the driveway--spiderwebbed the screen.
