Sound quality is very good and it can get loud for a little radio. It tunes very easily and quick unlike digital tuning radios. Sorry, old school is sometimes better. **Q: Why is there no off switch and why do batteries drain so easily??**
A: The text says "more than 100 hours" of operation. One answer below says "it eats batteries", which I take to mean you don't get anywhere near up to 100 hours of use out of a set of batteries.
Please explain?

**Q: How do you set up the clock? Not the alarm, just the clock**
A: I know that it is possible since I did it.  As I remember the instructions were not very helpful.  I am no longer using the radio because the reception was not adequate for me.

**Q: Cannot seem to get the radio to scan the wb channels.  only does wb 1 & 5. these useless here.  scanned fm ok**
A: I don't believe that my version has any weatherband channels, just AM and FM, which seem to scan okay for me, as they obviously do for you.

**Q: Can you turn off the display while listening in a dark room?**
A: Dear Customer, you can lock the button and the display backlight will turn on after 30s. Thanks.

I picked up this little radio to replace another small radio that broke after 22 years in my boat. I needed a small AM/FM/Weather Band radio to listen to FM music or NOAA weather while fishing. Its compact, reception is very good and clear. Sound quality is very good and it can get loud for a little radio. It tunes very easily and quick unlike digital tuning radios. Sorry, old school is sometimes better. Tunes into NOAA Weather Band easily and fast with very good reception. A great little emergency radio that also gets FM stations. Requires two AA batteries, the price is right and I'm impressed. It could make a neat and handy little gift. I'm really difficult to impress and this little radio meet or exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I purchased it.
