I'm rewiring a lot of stuff on a motorcycle and removing all the hard and soft plastic wire sleeves to repair broken wires and wrap in abrasion-resistant fabric split loom and have used this tape any place possible to close the split loom or wrap smaller wires in. It allows the split loom to maintain its flexibility. No gooey mess to deal with when it's warm. It's about impossible to get apart once stuck to itself. I actually found using a small cloth seam ripper and running it just under the tape cuts right through and no risk to wires below like if using a razor. For any wiring in areas exposed to direct rain/sun, I use the same mesh loom except it's not split loom and heat shrink the ends to wiring.
