The bonus is the plastic is clear so you get to see how it works. The only draw back that I found is that if you have super high water pressure like I do then it will leak between the shower head and handle. Not overly much just enough that you can see it.The water washes over the red stone balls, then over the grey one and back over the red ones in the shower head and then past filters which makes it a very clear water if you catch it in a glass. (which my daughter did) She loved the rain effect of the shower head which left her pretend she was a rain shower. There is no way to adjust it from a hard to soft falling rain. But it is able to massage your muscles as you stand under it.It does not come with a hose so think about that and either buy a hose or find one in your home for it.
