Review: Good, but limited features. - Having seen this amp on desertcart, I ended up buying direct from Boss, as it worked out a fair bit cheaper, even from the US. It wasn't rocket science to fit. The wiring followed standard colours, so was a doddle to unwire my old DIN plug, and wire this one in place with no mix-ups. The sound is more than adequate. The quality is crisp and clear through the old 6x9 rears and 3" front speakers I had already fitted, though I'd definitely say the 500 watt output claimed is a little optimistic. The main down sides are that there's no way to alter the tone in any way. Neither is there a way to set the balance and fader, so folk that are heavily into audio setup might want to reconsider. Fortunately for me it seemed to come out of the box sounding pretty good. A simple fix for this would be for Boss to release an app that enables these settings, but there's nothing like that currently available. I did try to reach out to Boss about this but have had no response from them - which confirms what I've heard and read from others, regarding Boss having shocking customer relations. The one benefit I really like, is that the button panel fits perfectly into the original radio slot in my 1965 VW camper. I just need to find a way to hold it in from behind so I can replace my radio cover plate when the stereo is not needed. Review: Nice modern replacement for an old AM/Fm tape deck in my 1986 Harley Davidson. Fit in easily where the tape deck was originally installed with a little bit of creativity. I have it connected to a couple of Hogtunes speakers and I’m happy with how it sounds. It doesn't seem like I'm getting full power out of mine???** A: I've got two of these installed in the fairing of two H-D. Both have worked great till recently. the older one just one day starting putting out about half the volume it use to. I connected a different speaker and no change. I can switch my phone between the two and with the phone volume the same, the newer one is twice as loud. Thanks** A: This amp will have no problem driving 6.5" 4ohm speakers if they are in to 50-150watt range. Remember it is 4 channel **Q: Can this run 4 80w speakers?** A: Yes. It will do fine w/ 4 speakers especially if they are low end or factory car speakers.
