Review: RESULTS, better than expected, Suddenly I have a massive LCD TV display. A+A+A+ - OK, a few things and read on for important details. First it IS worth it, I got the 5D because even though I'm on a serious budget, I decided to get the best I could possibly get, and out of ALL the listings on desertcart with these types of screens, this one seemed to have the most promise. Possibly just great marketing, and I can NOT compare this to other ALR screens, BUT I can say the viewing range is GREAT with a very bright projector, I have a true 1500 ANSI and this looks like an LCD TV. 130 inches... viewing it from a far back side, or the middle, or even very far and almost parallel with the screen. It's shocking how great this screen is, much better than I had thought it would be. SO I 100% believe it's much higher quality than others. The SMELL... YES, but only near by, it still smells like someone's grandma is in the room. It's like a plastic but also a bit of a perfume, very unusual to be honest, but if your there more than 5 min, you can't smell it anymore because your used to it. It's not enough to give a headache or anything, I really don't care about it because of the great picture I have to look at, and I am sure that smell will go away, even if it takes a month it's worth it. REMEMBER, your doing a DIY screen of high quality for a fraction of the cost. The material is very high strength, durable, and thick. I was expecting a thin see through fragile material, but no, this is a stretchy thickish opaque reflective material, you don't need stretching pliars and can pull by hand to stretch it over a frame like a painting. I made a massive wood frame with a center brace. I got 2, 2 x 12 pieces of plywood, split them in half on table saw, then beveled them. Put together like a regular artist stretcher frame. Making the frame can be done in any different way, so maybe you can figure out a way that works for you. Or get a friend to help. I USED THE VELCRO METHOD. I got 3M $18.00 velcro from LOWES, and cut them in pieces, you need MANY MANY pieces and spread out evenly all the way around before even sticking any of them. Start from middle top to bottom, then middle left, right. Since the material stretches, the first velcro you stick you start higher than other side. Since the piece I got came in size 120 x 72, I made a screen that was 118 x 70. Only giving an inch to stretch on the sides, because it's stretchy material, however this is very risky and gives little space to stretch to the back side. I got an extra inch on my screen but would still advise allowing more space for someone not familiar with stretching frames. The velcro sticks strong to the material, and the fresh clean lumber, surprisingly. And once it's all stretched tight in a warm temperature, you wait.... and see if it sags or you need to tighten it, make it hotter or colder in the room. Once you have determined that it's at a good stretch, you staple in-between the velcro pieces. IF YOU WANT, but that's only for a long term strength, I am still in the process of waiting and might just leave it as velcro and update if they ever detach. It's very forgiving material, not as fragile as it seems, wrinkles stretch out with ease. but still just use a cloth underneath when stretching to avoid scratches. I would buy a back stock of these just to have for future, best ever result.
Review: Great screen, but avoid if you have laser projector - It provides very good contrast, brightness and color. Given the "cone" tech used to make such ALR, one should expect some hot spot and darker image on the edges ... that usually doesn't bother much though. However, if you have "laser" projector, you should avoid this .... you will see sparkling laser speckle all over places, mostly centered ... usually on bright scenes ... at least it was very distracting to me and have to return it. This effect wasn't present on non-laser projector (I tested with 720p office projector) I took away 1-star, because it is a known phenomenon (google: what-is-triple-laser-speckle) and it wasn't mentioned by the manufacturer, which could have saved me time/effort.

**Q: This or a 120" screen would give better experience for a 1080p projector and big room? Worried about oversizing!**
A: After wrapping it around a frame and adding felt tape, you're probably only going to get 120 in screen out of this anyway.

**Q: I want this packed folded and not rolled as i`ll be sending to my us ware house and then shipping to my country.. please confirm this is possible?**
A: Hello ShahvezThanks for contacting Elite Screens, I understand you have a question about the packing of our Designer Cut Series screens. I will be happy to provide some insight, these screens are rolled onto a tube when processed for shipping, NOT FOLDED as this may cause unnecessary creasing. They are then put into a shipping tube to protect from any possible shipping damage. Thanks for your interest please feel free to reach out againBest,Jesse LELITE SCREENS

**Q: What kind of adhesive can be used to attach the screen to itself? I am trying to loop it over to run a rod through it to fix to my frame.**
A: I sewed it on a sewing machine to create a loop.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Elite Screens went above and beyond to help me out!
*by A***R on October 13, 2025*

The screen material is excellent quality and looks fantastic once installed. When I first set it up, the “backside” label was placed on the wrong side, which caused some confusion. I reached out to Elite Screens, and they were very understanding and graciously offered a replacement even though it wasn't within the warranty period. Their customer service was fast, professional, and truly went above and beyond. For anyone buying this screen — make sure to double-check the “backside” label before installing. The label is quite small compared to the size of the screen, which I believe is intentionally designed that way so it doesn’t remain visible when projecting onto the screen. Overall, I’m very happy with both the product and the company. Thank you, Elite Screens, for the great support and for standing behind your customers!
