## Description

Product description OONO Forward and Reverse Relay Module for Motor/Linear Actuator, Reversing Relay Module (DC 12V), F-1020 12V Features Reversing relay module. Powers any reversing motor equipment, can be used for any application that requires the ability to reverse motion Support Momentary-action(Self-resetting) switch and Alternate-action (Self-holding) switch. For Self-resetting switch, when the switch is pressed the motor operates, and when the switch is released the motor stops. Compact plastic case and wires connect for easy mount. Forward and Reverse status indicating LED, forward status lighting red, reverse lighting green. When the control switch is not turned on, the module does not consume electric energy. Rated current 10 Amp, Operating Voltage: 10 ~ 15V DC. .

Review: Happy customer - Very easy to hook up and it work well. I put this on a lawn mower to lift the deck up and down. It worked well with the switch and electric lifts I bought.
Review: Works great so far... some measured parameters here - Works great so far. Using it in a project with a digital timer to open and close chicken coop doors. Here are some values I measured, which may save someone time figuring it out themselves. Conditions: Room temperature and 12 VDC power supply. Disclaimer 1: Accurate test equipment was not on-hand, so these are all approximate values. Disclaimer 2: Your device may not be exactly the same as mine. Manufacturer may change the design at any time, I'm sure. Standby power supply current: 0 A when both FWD & REV inputs tied to +12 V or left disconnected Supply current with FWD or REV input tied to 0 V (ground): 32 mA FWD or REV input threshold voltage that turns ON the M1/M2 outputs: +5.8 V or below (@ 17.7 mA) FWD or REV input threshold voltage that turns OFF the turned-on M1/M2 outputs: +8.2 V or above (@11.7 mA) FWD or REV input current when tied to ground: 31.5 mA FWD or REV input current when tied to +12 V: Immeasurably small FWD or REV input equivalent resistance: 350 Ω +/- 50 Ω (not directly measurable with ohmmeter, but each input behaves like this resistance when unit is powered) Module clicks when turned on/off, so it seems to contain an electromechanical relay Operation if FWD & REV inputs simultaneously tied to ground: No motor output drive & no LED lit, so this is probably not a recommended operating mode The two 0 V (ground) lines are internally connected

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I set this up to open and close a home door lock that turns dc motor?**
A: It’s just a relay. It simply sends the 12vdc from the supply to either line. What you use the 12vdc for is irrelevant, providing it doesn’t draw more current than the relay is rated for.
For a lock the only issue I can see is when you would cut power off. You would need to manually trigger the relay and time it yourself, knowing how long it takes the lock to fully engage or disengage.
At the price of this it’s worth trying, yet I would imagine someone makes ‘smart locks’, albeit for likely a few hundred bucks.
The distance from your trigger to the lock will be a factor, yet assuming we’re talking about a house, I can’t see that being an issue. You’ll need to run 2 wires minimum, 3 if you want forward and reverse. Either a 3 way rocker switch or 2 separate switches.

**Q: can i use with photocell?**
A: I do understand the concept of a photocell, but have not used it with this module. It maybe possible, but not sure how the module may react with any type variable voltage that photocell could have to activate the module as a switch. Me personally, if I had an application that needed a photocell, I would not hesitate to try it out with the module and take my chances of needed.

**Q: If i supply pwm 12v to the v+, does it pass through to the m1, enabling pwm speed control?**
A: Not sure how to answer your question but there are different ways to get what want from this device. The for/rev wires are simply a switch that will control the direction of the currect for M1 or M2

**Q: Does anyone know how to wire this relay to a plc cpu with sourcing outputs?**
A: It will require adding 2 spst relays and turn each on with you PLC outputs. The fwd/rev motor relay requires a hard contact closure between 0 & fwd and 0 & rev for it to operate.
