Review: Surprised.... - New Update... Batteries. Mower has worked just fine - up until the Batteries have stopped holding a good charge. Looks like I'll have to invest in two more batteries to finish out the summer with this mower. The battery life dropped from between 1-2 hours to about 5 minutes. Will continue to update as can..... I've used the mower about a continuous 14 months which comes to about $15 / month. My gas lawn tractor sucks that up in one mowing with the price of gas the way it is, so? We'll see how long new batteries last. Happy mowing. Update on this mower - Well, I've had this mower about 15 months now. I've carted it locally cutting around buildings, shrubs, trees, edging sidewalks and driveways and am still tickled to death with it. It has not had one stumble. The batteries charge just fine... the heavy cloth bag/grass-catcher still works just fine... the flip door where the grass-catcher goes has warped a little (plastic) but that does not interfere with the operation of the mower or the grass-catcher. I've cut through some very heavy foliage - no issue. The "mulch as you go" idea hit me while cutting around the shrubs.... fill the bag - stop - dump the clippings around the shrubs - reseat the bag - continue cutting - repeat. If and/or when this mower bites the dust, I will be very sad because it has served well. Highly recommend this product, and I hope whoever purchases one has the same luck I have had. I can one-hand it into the back of the truck (tailgate down), quick strap it to prevent rolling and move on to the next site (I'm getting close to 80, btw). The batteries will last about an hour or so of continuous mowing if grass is heavy (not wet heavy). Takes a little shy of two hours to fully charge. Would purchase again - no problem. I get nothing for writing this nor expect to do so. I take care of my tools, do not abuse them. This is my experience with this product and happy to support. Wasn't sure what to expect with this mower, but I needed something that I could use around shrubs, borders, and building/s other than a weed eater which is trim no. 2. I got the 16" which goes between the shrubs easily. The cut is easily adjustable from low to high ( a plus ). Follow the wire coming out of the main body of the machine, up the handle and into a little black box and there's a yellow button. Push it in, hold and depress the yellow safety bar - release the button while still depressing the safety bar. There's a slight pause and the blade starts to turn. Works like most every other mower that has a safety bar. This mower also has an automatic 2nd gear for heavy grass, a surprise, and the cut is smooth. I let the grass get too heavy in several places but this little dude tackled it with ease - Again, surprise! Total cut time for my first use - approx... 30-40 mins, and still had battery life. I charged the batteries right out of the box for about a long as it took me to read the instructions and assemble the handle, which is the ONLY real assembly needed. The battery box is easy to access on the top of the body - Caution: There is a Key attached to a string in the battery box that needs to be plugged in (kind of like a table saw safety key) which allows the machine to turn-on. It's zero trouble to assemble if you have any experience with putting things together. It's logical the way it's built. It has a mulch-plug in the rear discharge (where the grass exits) which needs to be removed (just wiggle and lift up & out) before adding the grass catcher (easily attached and removed and already assembled). Easy to dump the grass out because it's fairly small ( a plus, in my opinion because it doesn't get heavy ). This is not a half-acre+ use machine ( again, my opinion ), but it's terrific for a small area or trim use before/after the yard tractor does the heavy lifting. This are my initial thoughts concerning this product because I've only used it once. I recharged the batteries after I completed doing the trimming - probably a 200' X 5' run ... which has a ditch bank, lots of shrubs with borders but not too bumpy. I didn't stop because the battery went down, I stopped because it was almost dark and the skeeters were biting. There's about another 250' X 5' to go. I started with the blade in the second highest position and lowered as I got more used to the machine. Easy to push forward or pull backwards ( cuts either way ). Gotta say - I was Surprised at how easy this machine is to use. It seems that with ordinary care it should last a while. Suits my purpose just fine. I'll update this rating if things go South. The price was under $200 and I've got a weed eater that cost more and is not as easy to use. BTW - I'm closer to 80 than 70. Happy cutting!
Review: I like this little mower so far.... - So far so good. I usually don't like to leave product reviews for a while after using the product. I can't really see what could go wrong. I'll give you the meat and potatoes right away. This mower is cheap, light weight, simple to use right out the box, and handy. If you got electricity you mowing. No dying battery worries. No gas needed. No spark plug changes, etc etc. Now you will have to be the type of person who can think through cord placement. Think of elders, MS / Multiple Sclerosis individuals, Rheumatoid arthritis, and / or basically anyone who wants to mow their grass on their own, but struggles with strength or muscle strength fluctuations, etc. The only small caveat I would mention is your grip. If your grip is off and on, I'd get a weightlifting strap to wrap around the handle to ensure you can keep the lever engaged. Or maybe I just have small hands. The lever to move up and down is pretty simple. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A CHEAP MOWER SO IT WILL FEEL AND LOOK LIKE A TOY! But it is mighty. Noisy...lol. But when I tell you it cuts grass like no other. My backyard grass was high and grows like thats its full time job. You can literally sit out there and watch it grow if you wanted. lol I could literally mow it every 4 days and it would like that. The mower did what most do. I've had gas as well as the reason why I got this mower was as a backup to the Dewalt Battery mower I have. Ugh Dewalt gets on my nerves. Anyhoo its more expensive and in the shop right now. I wanted this as a backup so if all else fails as long as I got electricity I'm mowing. It bogs down like any mower would in high grass but tip back on those back wheels just a smidge and it comes back to life...never dies. At this price even if it only lasts one season, I've got my money's worth. I got the 2 year warranty. But I really can't see what could go wrong. I believe in fresh air and some physical activity for my MS. The fact that I have to stop and work with the cord is a plus. It forces me to stop and rest more. I'm not exhausted by the heavy mower. I call it my tonka toy lol

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Mower got wet in sudden rain and now wont start? Any info on if the water damaged it from starting.**
A: Please leave the machine in ventilation for a period of time. When the water is dry, try again to see if it can be started? Please refer to the trouble shooting in manual. If it still fails to start. Please contact the after-sales department. You can contact LawnMaster Customer Service at 1-866-384-8432.

**Q: Very disappointed with the battery life. Where can I buy additional batteries?**
A: Sorry for this issue, but our battery pack accessories are currently out of stock. You can contact customer service, and they will inform you when they are back in stock.
For your reference, and thank you for your question!

**Q: We have rocks mixed in out lawn, will this lawn mower be okay woth that?**
A: This lawn mower doesn’t look very strong to me for bagging rocks in lawn. You might burn out the motor if any rock stuck under the blade. Prefer a heavy duty one or clean all big rocks of car key size before mowing.

**Q: How well does it mulch leaves? I currently use my gas powered to mulch leaves and then go over them again to bag them. Possible with this?**
A: Hello. It does about the same as your gas powered mower. Both use the same RPMs to cut or mulch. I did not buy the bagging unit with mine. Because i dont have
a huge amount of leaves. But the leaves i do have i just make a couple passes on. On a side note, if you dont hit large objects with this unit, like large rocks or tree roots,
this is really dependable machine so far been 2 nd year that i have had it. Also get a heavy gauge electrical cord for it.

### ⭐ Not good quality control
*by C***N on June 12, 2026*

I read all the reviews for this "new" version ME1218X.01 and the "old" version of ME1218X. By the way, the "old" and "new" versions appear to be identical, with no serious technical improvements made to the "new" version. Despite worrying about all the bad reviews between the two, I got this cause it was the lowest cost, corded lawn mower, that had side discharge. It also because it is one of the very few corded lawn mowers that had that function. And it was part of a very small group of corded mowers that could cut as high as 4 inches. When I got the mower, I noticed all these scuff marks on it (perhaps used when I ordered for new). And the back wheel next to the height adjuster was not able to move fully, except for maybe a couple of inches back and forth. The height adjuster was touching the wheel, so it blocked the wheel from fully turning. If the company legitimately did quality control, by testing every mower made, they would have easily seen that wheel could not move cause of no spacing between the wheel and the height adjuster. Lastly, this did not look like a durable mower. You can start with the wheels, which are made of a very thin plastic. I could see any of the wheels potentially cracking or falling off over time. It would have been better had they used rubber wheels. Despite one wheel not moving and the other three wheels moving ok on my indoor flooring, they would not move as smoothly if used outside, especially if your lawn is not completely flat. This mower would be a big no on any incline/slope because of the thin wheels and the bulkiness/heaviness of the mower. Lastly, the height adjuster was very stiff to move. If you have any grip issues, this would be a mower to not consider buying. Because the stuck wheel was not easily detected by the company, it makes we wonder how much else they missed during inspection (if they truly had an inspection). I trust the reviews about the motor dying out or plastic melting around the motor, based on the poor impression I got from the mower so far. I did see one of multiple, identical videos on YouTube that showed how grass clippings somehow slip into the motor area. These grass clippings help block the vents in the motor casing and so the motor becomes hotter than it should. This hotness can lead to melting the surrounding plastic. Because this was the cheapest mower that cut up to 4 inches, was under 40 pounds and has side discharge, I thought before buying that ok I will put up with the inconvenience of removing grass from the motor, even middle of mowing. But just unboxing this mower indoors made me realize I would have worry every time out when this will die out. And why risk losing $140 on something that has a high risk if failing, even if you treat the mower gently. $140 is a lot of money even if it on the "cheaper" side of corded mowers. So unfortunately almost every mower here is bagging and mulching only, if you want a mower that is not heavy (pounds around mid 30s or less). And if you want all three with all three functions (bagging, mulching and side discharge) or just side discharge with mulching, the weight will be about 46 pounds or higher. I could not find a mower that did both bagging and side discharge. And if you have slopes /inclines / hills like me, heavy mowers will do some long term damage to your back and knees over time. And this mower felt heavier than I thought beforehand, despite having no bagging function. Altogether I could not trust that this mower could last long term. So I returned it. It was a waste of money. If I find a mower that seems good, I will try and update that on here.
