Basically this means that this will remove the reverberation of your room, HOWEVER this will NOT work if you put it up directly next to a wall.Unlike foam, this is built for you to put space between your wall and the blanket, so all those people saying it made no difference this is why. Now to explain why it's like this, take an acoustic panel (not acoustic foam, two very different things) An acoustic panel is built so there is space between the sound dampers (foam, cloth, etc) and the wall itself, so usually these are more effective if you have 2 inches of space between the foam and the wall. Acoustic panels that are 1 inch away from the wall aren't super effective because there is not enough space for the sound to go through the sound dampeners, bounce off the wall, and die out and get dampened.All of this to say, make sure there is space between your wall, window, or whatever you plan on putting this up against, 2" or more is most effective, for me I actually have it on my ceiling (because a lot of reverberation comes from there) and it's about 8" away. Works super well.Another thing to note, this is not meant to kill the sound from leaving your room. That is a very different kind of panel, and those are called diffusers.
