Started on the "Dune" series at the end of 2018, each book just gets progressively better. After Finishing "God Emperor" I thought the series had peaked, I'm now 2/3rds of the way through "Heretics" and this one is even better. The characters of Miles Teg and Odrade are amazing, you find out how the Bene Gesserits are the ultimate bad a**es, you finally get properly introduced to the Bene Tleilax and of course get to meet the Honoured Matres........Dune, what an amazing series of books, totally blown away and I highly recommend ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Continuing the saga *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 29 May 2012* It's been a while since I read God Emperor of Dune and so I was aprehensive about starting Heretics because of how daunting it can be to keep up with Herbert's terms and cultures but I found myself engrossed in the story pretty quikly. Taken from the point of view of the Bene Geserit, Heretics of Dune concerns itself with the ongoing power struggle between the Sisterhood, the Bene Tlielax and a returning populace from The God Emperor's "Scattering" called The Honored Matres. It has all the depth you'd expect from the series and introduces a collection of new characters on a par with the likes of Paul Atredies and Leto II. The only criticism I can think of is that the novel ends abrubtly and glosses over two major events for the people of the Dune universe. The contrast between Herbert's usual detailed prose and the rushed ending is the only thing stopping this novel from being perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the Herbert’s triumphs *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 5 November 2021* Long after the original Dune, this is a worthy follow-up.
