The collars seem to work great before they broke. No complaints considering the low cost......never an issue with range. Although one of the collar seems to not hold a charge sometimes, but after charging it up, it would go a few days without charging First collar broke after about 1 month. The plastic clip that holds the shocking housing on the collar broke. I used epoxy and glued the plastic back together.Second collar just recently broke after about a month of use ( when the first one broke, then I started using this second collar.....which was why I ordered the two pack). One of the two metal studs which contact the dogs neck broke off completely. It didn't just loosen and unscrew, the stud broke completely off from the housing. Not sure how that happened, but doesn't look easy to repair.I may try contacting the manufacturer.....if they respond I will repost and update my review / rating.2/29/2016 Update: I contacted TEN TEN and they immediately offered to send a replacement unit. Within one week, I had a brand new unit to replace the defective one. Excellent Customer service. This product is great, I just had to go the extra mile and purchase an e-collar that is completely waterproof upon 25 ft of water including the controller for almost 300 dollars.It suits us better because we are roughnecks and love being outside. Beside that, these collars really hold up to a lot a lot. I encourage all to scotch tape the holes and buttons on the controller because one drip of water can disrupt the whole device, i'm not sure what happened to mine but it does not take charge anymore but is still alive and it has been a while.I am still running one of the collars on one dog until the new one for my pit-mix comes in, in about a week. $120. Hopefully the controller can stay on for a week for it does not take charge since the first week I had it, can you believe it haha.Thus why I love these collars so much because they hold up through a lot and don't hurt the pocket.The static on these collars, even at 1 is very very strong compared to a more pricey e-collar. My new device goes up to 7 and I would say that these collars at 1 is equal to about a 4 or 5 on the one I recently purchased when this controller went faulty.But don't let that hold you back from this purchase, one zap should be enough to get the attention of your dog. No more than level 3 seems okay. and other than that, I have been using vibration on (9-17) for everything unless my dog runs off with complete defocus.I have not yet have had a problem with them swimming, these collars really hold up, just make sure to push in the rubber stopper where the collar is charged and you are golden.Update: it has been maybe a little under a week, I just ordered another set for a friend and just started to have issues with mine.The controller device will not take a charge and I no longer can control collar 2, but on the collar 1 setting, both collars go off at the same time. :( I wish the controller was built as tough as the collars. My pack consists of a Pit mix and a husky.My Pit has extreme anxiety and often would run away just because or because his anxiety would kick in and boom. He would disappear.This was holding our pack back from growing further off leash and staying safe.My boys are very well trained, respected and loved.When purchasing this I knew it would be a huge commitment for all of us and I was even hesitant but with this price why not.We use only the vibrate on 7-9, my Pit and I, as well as the sound. He loves it. Positive love as a reward is all we need.As a pack leader I must give him that nudge to help him better understand and listen and this collar does it for us.His anxiety has magically decreased ten fold, this collar along with the spiritual healing my Pit and I are working through together have helped so much.Now we both are much calmer, the whining in the car has decreased, no leash needed and I know he is safe for he responds to the beep no matter what he gets himself into in the woods.I am so grateful to have found this product and recommend it only to humans who know how to use an e-collar, that's why we have Youtube and dog whispers right, haha.The shock on any collar, in my opinion, is not needed and does not need to be used especially if you're looking to keep that special bond with your baby rather than introducing them to something so intense that is not needed especially for my Pit.My Husky is responding very well to the sound but he feels as if he is being punished.I am working on ensuring him the beep only means to come, and to come every time when called for but I also say good boy listening etc. with the sound better help them understand the use of the device and so on.He is doing great responding to the sound and vibration (at 9-11) and if he doesn't listen I simply walk over to him, explain what he did wrong and leash him for a few minutes of our walk. The shock never worked for us.It seems to be working just fine and my Husky will improve with more consistency as time goes by.Everytime I use the sound I use my voice for example, come, walk with mommy, stay close, and you have to listen.I see so many reviews about the shock being too high but honestly it's not needed for correction.Amazing product, LCD display is great day and night, waterproof (no problems yet), collar is long but great to grab onto and hold for a portion of the walk like a leash if one misbehaves and it's also of material that never needs a cleaning! I mean yeah they aren't to Costly which is great but what money I did spend on this product I would have really liked it to work.
