You can choose the speed and color of the flames as well as the color of the stones. There are several color combos to choose from. The remote control works as expected, it heats our room nicely and really just looks perfect in our room. We have only had it about two weeks, but so far it is still working and we are pleased with the purchase.

**Q: How do I contact customer service for a Vitesse fireplace?**
A: They are not responding right away  . I wish I would know earlier this supplier is locate in China

**Q: Does it have a mirror background ?**
A: No mirror. It’s just a thin screen/film. 
Heater feature sucks. Get one that has temp you can adjust. And it’s Loud! 
Speed of flames much better feature than color change.

**Q: it says need clearance 8 inches around the fireplace. Does that include the mantel legs on the side?**
A: Not really. Mine only has about 6 inches and never even gets warm. The hot air blows 12 to 20 inches outward and never really even rises to my mantle.
