## Description

Slick 50 Original Engine Treatment with Cerflon® PTFE | 32 oz.Works with all oil types, weights, and viscosity including Synthetic oil, synthetic blends, and conventional or mineral oil based. Recommended for all gasoline engines brand new to old engines in need of restoration.Slick 50® Ceramic Engine Treatment is engineered to outperform and optimize engine performance. The original PTFE Slick 50® Classic Engine Treatment has been updated with Cerflon® technology to create a ceramic reinforcement of your internal engine parts. Slick 50® technology increases lubricity and durability for lubricants and coatings. Protects your engine while resisting chemical breakdown.Protects against Engine friction and heatHelps enhance oil durabilityHelps clean and prevent engine sludgeThe chemical compound, Boron Nitride, is added to the fluoropolymer - also known by the DuPont registered trademark Teflon. Not only is Boron Nitride the only material known to fully reinforce the fluoropolymer, in fact, in a 4 Ball Wear Test an industry-standard test that measures the wear protection of a fluid on a metal surface, a base oil compound with Cerflon® scores 15% better than a base oil compound in PTFE alone.Directions: Shake well before use. Use once a year or every oil change whichever comes first. 5 Quarts or less- Replace 1 quart (32 ounces) of motor oil with 1 bottle (32 ounce/ 1 quart) Slick 50® Classic Engine Treatment with Cerflon® PTFE. 6 Quarts or more: Replace 20% motor oil with Slick 50® Classic Engine Treatment Cerflon® PTFE 32 ounce.

Review: A very good additive! - I first used Slick 50 in the late 80s when it debuted and things change, right, but the description says "Original Formula" so I'm hoping that's not just sales hype One thing I noticed immediately is that the 80s formula's instruction was to drive at least 50 miles after adding this to fresh oil (to allow it to circulate through and adhere to the lifters etc) and it was a "once and done" additive... but the instruction on THIS modern "original formula" didn't say anything about driving ANY distance.. AND it's recommended to add once a year.. so I'm wondering if the manufacturer realized a "once and done" formula is bad for sales? which would logically mean it's not actually the original formula, wouldn't it? In any case, I *will* say that just as I was aiming for, it stopped the lifter's tapping noise that we old-car owners experience when warming up the car (that a simple oil change doesn't fix) which makes me happy, and I'm hoping that just like in the 80s that my engine will keep on running smoothly even when the oil's a little low ((in the 80s after driving it the recommended 50 miles, my bf checked the oil and it was bone dry!!! but the engine was running smoothly-- neither of us knew why the oil disappeared but I never had any problems for the next 6 years I owned the car)) So... as far as needing to add it again in a year.. only time will tell
Review: Best additive for your oil - My car is a 2002 mercury with 75000 miles on it. I bought it with 25000 on it. I use this once every 50000 miles and change the oil every 3000 miles. Car runs smooth no knocking in below 0 weather.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How can this be good for an engine? ptfe is harmful. just google it**
A: I can tell you i used this in an 87 S10 back in the early 90s with 75k on it. After adding slick 50 the engine stopped using oil(1 qt per 3k miles) and fuel milage went up 2-3 mpg. Kept the truck for 230k miles. Never used oil, had any engine issues, or decrease in mpg.
Would run in any of my cars no problem.

**Q: I have over 130,000 miles on my jeep.... should i use this one or the recharge one? And how much should i put in**
A: This slick 50 will work just fine on your jeep works on all vehicles. No need to buy the recharge I use these ones only best stuff. So these are in 1 qt containers use all of the 1 qt container and to remember not to over fill vehicle. What the vehicle call out for engine oil fill amount 6 or 7 quarts then instead of fill it with all engine oil of 6 or 7 or however much it takes subtract the quart of engine oil since the engine treatment went in. If you do your own oil changes if you notice oil color change when you change oil at 3,000 miles the color sometimes change so want to make note of that and have a mechanic give any advice or replacement/repairs if needed.

**Q: Can I use this classic formula in 0W20 oil?**
A: I don’t see why not

**Q: I can use on A 2017 Chevy impala?**
A: The engine treatment will be good for your Chevy Impala. You will notice quieter engine from your vehicle and smoother acceleration. I have added this engine treatment to all of my vehicles old and new.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best additive for your oil
*by P***P on March 19, 2026*

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SLICK-50 Has been around since the 50's !!! Yes the Nineteen 50's when it was "Formulated" !!
*by H***R on December 18, 2024*

Even when I was in my "Twenties", 55 years ago, Slick-50 was around 1969 to about 1979, this product was WELL known in the Automotive Repair World !!! Slick 50 was developed by an "Automotive Wizard" I think in the1950's, Hence the Name !!! I think ?? The Engine oils "Waaaaaay" back then were just "Plain-Jane" oil(s) Not even High "Detergent Oils" at first, these were meant to keep the (INSIDE) of your engine "Clean" !!! Way back then for those "Monster" high-cubic inch displacement engines that the Car Makers pushed on the Markets, since they were in "Cahoots" with the Oil Companies !!! Also, Oil changes were Kind of "Neglected by the Average Owner (Not All), Maybe a "Religious" Once A Year Oil Change !!! No such things like "Jiify-Lube" or "Grease-Monkey", etc. etc. These days as engines came down in size (CID) starting with the influx of "Foreign Cars, European and Asian Vehicles, almost all of these Cars and Small Trucks had much smaller engines, "BUT" More of a "Demand" or "Burden" on them even though the "Engineering" !!! and the "Technology" and the Precise Manufacturing Tolerances became "Vastly", "Vastly" Improved !!! Many with 4 cylinders or even (three) cylinders !!! These also had smaller oil capacity engines (Usually) and sometimes less than 4 Quarts would be enough for an oil change (With Filter) !! Using ONE quart of Slick-50 was quite a Great, Great, thing especially if you did the Job yourself or just had the oil change "Place" add" it for you !! I Believe that this Product does make a difference and I use it in my Mercedes E-350 V-6 every oil change which is generally about 4,000 miles or so. Mercedes's recommendation is, 13,000 miles !!! NO, NO, NO !!!that's a little bit too many miles for me, maybe only once every two years, which is too long for me!!! I could "Bore" all of You and GO ON and ON, but that's enough for now !!! Thank You Amazon and Your Suppliers for Great Products, Great Prices and Great Shipping Always !!! (P. S.) My usage of Slick-50, Is to "Squeeeeeeze" a little more "Miles-Per-Gallon" out of My Trusty "BENZ" !!!!
