Not the case with this injector.This injector is by far the most heavy duty injector I have used, and it works with all types of marinades and sauces, including ones that have chunks of seasoning or spices. Also, very easy to clean.I highly recommend this to anyone looking at a marinade injector. This particular model was a few dollars cheaper than the Butterball model, but seemed to be just as well-built in the description.I got an instant impression of quality the moment I took it out of the packaging: from the substantial weight of the cylinder (this thing is no lightweight) to the nice, tight fit of the silicone plunger. The threaded connections between cylinder and plunger section, and the cylinder and needles ensure a firm, leak-free bond.So far, I have used the injector on pork butt and beef roast. Despite its heft, the injector is easy to fill, hold, and use. The many holes on the liquid needle ensure that you get a good distribution throughout the meat, but since the cover half the needle, I wouldn't recommend it on thin cuts.
