The Hanna Instruments HI 9829-12 and HI 9829-13 chloride standards are used to calibrate the HI 7609829-11 chloride electrode used with the HI 9829 or HI 98290 portable multiparameter meter in water quality applications. The kit includes 10 sachets each of 10ppm (HI 9829-12) and 100ppm (HI 9829-13) calibration standard, and each pouch contains approximately 20mL of calibration solution. HI 9829-12 and HI 9829-13 meet OSHA Regulation 29 CFR 1910.1200 as a nonhazardous material.A multiparameter meter is a benchtop or handheld device that can take multiple readings on a single sample. It measures parameters such as the pH level (acidity or alkalinity of a substance), conductivity (the amount of salts or other compounds present in water), dissolved oxygen (DO, the amount of oxygen in a liquid), temperature, total dissolved solids (TDS, anything present in water other than the pure water molecule and suspended solids), salinity, resistivity, and oxidation reduction potential (ORP). Applications for multiparameter meters include water testing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, winemaking, water-treatment plants, and aquaculture. Devices with a benchtop body are often used for indoor laboratory use or in a manufacturing setting; handheld, portable devices are typically used for fieldwork.
