I once dropped a MacBook a very short distance, as it slipped through my hands. It was in a padded pouch, but sadly, the screen would not switch on. Lots of room for portable SSD and charging accessories and has nice snug rounded corners and fit, for padded and knock proof security. Side opening, not top. Not too bulky, and looks and feels sturdy.
