I use it on the dash of F-150 for parades and funeral processions. It MAY not be bright enough for regular daytime use. When i finally got it it seemed very cheaply made. I know you get what you pay for but i have ordered many other lights that are much better quailty than this one. It is very small. The bracket for it is very flimsy and does not allow it to sit flush against your windshield. It does nto have an on/off switch so if you want to turn it off you have to press the button through all the flash patterns to get it turned off. The build quality is cheap. It's just not something you'd rely on in an emergency, like a broken down vehicle indicator or a volunteer fireman, don't risk being seen with this. The nut inserts inside of the unit was partially blocked on one side. That means that the bolt wasn't able to screw into the unit because there was plastic blocking it. I used an x-acto knife to cut away the blocked bolt and all was well. The 12 volt cigarette supply is not well built and it has a connector that can easily be pulled out when stretched. Again, I would consider this 'emergency equipment' that's used to identify you to other vehicles in extreme conditions.
