Niaouli essential oil isn't the best smelling essential oil out there it is very camphorous, earthy and can be a bit cloying … however as a therapeutic oil it's said to be great for use in respiratory conditions, skin infections and acne. I have severe COPD in the form of fixed airways disease and I have been using this Niaouli essential oil for a few weeks every evening in a diffuser hoping it will reduce inflammation and help improve my breathing. I also add Eucalyptus essential oil into the mix to improve the scent. Does it work? Well it certainly seems to help with congestion and also makes my cough more productive.
