The waterproof blankets that are usually used for this are very expensive, however, this product is used to keep furniture safe from animal wear and tear. This product is good for both, since I have cats so it is a better purchase overall as I would be hesitant to use a massage blanket as a sofa cover due to how much they cost.This product is large, soft, and waterproof. My wife is tactile sensitive, and it met with her approval, and she was more than willing to stretch out on it. The cats approved as well, but I had to shoo them off to keep them oil free. (Cats are worse than kids). It won't soak through like a towel, it's a decent length and soft. I also feel a little more comfortable laying on this than on a puppy house training pad, which is what we had previously been using to avoid soaking through the towels. Couldn't be happier.
