Problems sometimes arise when very short section are left in the bottom and these can make it difficult for the next section to enter. When this happens it is possible to insert a section from the end, i.e. where it normally comes out, if you press on the cap. This will clear the jam and it should work properly once more. **Q: What type of lead comes with the pencil? Thank you** A: Hi I think its HB - but it doesn't really matter - its the mechanical pencil you are buying. These are suburb - I use 4 - 2mm is my favourite. It's the same basic design and build quality as my rOtring rapid PRO which I've had for 15 years, but slimmer and shorter. At first I thought it must be lighter as well, but in fact it's nearly the same (my scales measure 22g vs 23g for the rapid PRO). I think it's because the weight distribution is better, being less back-heavy, so it doesn't feel like it's going to tip backwards out of your fingers.
