## Questions & Answers

**Q: How many amps does it draw?**
A: This unit uses 4 amps at most or 46 to 50 watts at 12vdc, but, once it gets to temp it shuts off. That's the "logic" of the the product. Thermal temp sensor saves you some energy if you are using a solar generator or limited power source.

**Q: How hot does this device get?? Is it safe for plastic containers? Tupperware etc...??**
A: It gets hot but does not melt plastic. I have found that the thin plastic containers do better as far as a shorter heat up time, about an hour for a 4x8x2 container with cold leftovers. And mine sit on ice pacs til it’s time for me to heat it up. The glass containers take longer to heat up. One f my co-workers used to heat up frozen TV dinners in it.

**Q: At 12v, how many amps does it draw? Will it drain my battery if I let it run with my engine turned off?**
A: It doesn't draw 1 amp, it draws about 4 amps.  A 40aH battery (40ah is a 'normal car battery) in good condition should be able to heat it for a few hours.  4 amps for 10 hours is 40 amp-hours.  So you "should" be able to heat it for 1 hour with the engine off, and have ~90% battery remaining to start the car.  And it is thermostatically controlled thus it uses much less power once it gets up to temperature.  Unless it's really cold outside - then it will use more power, but you c could put it under blankets.

**Q: Does the cord come with it**
A: Yes the cord is attached to the heating tray.

Absolutely loved it for the 2 months it worked then it just stopped heating up. Amazon not interested because it was outside the return window and the manufacturer not interested because of the cost of sending a replacement to the uk. Bought the food warmer in 2024, best purchase ever for work. Can warm food from frozen and keep it at a very eatable temperature. Doesn’t draw too much power from the battery when left plugged in. Accidentally left it on all night and was still able to start the truck up. Been using it everyday and it’s still working great. I’ll heat my meals typically in aluminum to-go containers but will also use glass containers.
