This is not a reason not to buy this particular sandpit because other brands of the same style are also very awkward to adjust. It does need a rain cover to keep the sand dry over winter; the bottom will absorb water if standing on paving slabs. I shall put mine on a pallet when I refill it this Summer to avoid this. Overall I am very happy with this sandpit as it is a good size, provides a bit of shade, not plastic and fairly robust and well made by modern standards. Good value for money. Great customer services, even gave us a 10% voucher for our next purchase! The only downside with the product that we have found is when sliding the sunshade up and down through the slots - this could be made smoother.
