I'd buy dozens of tubes of the stuff and have them everywhere around the house, in my purse, my backpack, my suitcase. I'd apply it 5-10 times a day. Then recently I read up a bit on how it's not really that healthy of a thing to be slathering on my lips. Oops. So I went searching for a replacement. Reviews on Amazon lead me to Qtica, so I bought a couple. At first I wasn't that thrilled, for one thing when it's cold the stuff is darned near impossible to squeeze out of the tube, and when it's warm it practically pours out. Secondly, it has a slight menthol scent that I found a little offputting. Then I began using it and I realized that one application kept my lips feeling hydrated and wonderful for nearly a full day. Once in the morning, once at night, and that was it. All those tubes of Vaseline are now being replaced with a couple of tubes of Qtica (and yes, I'm buying a bunch of extra!). This is one of those rare beauty items that actually is worth the price.
