Sure, you don't have the fancy electronics or wi fi enabled apps to control temperatures but if you watch it closely it will do the job. Can't imagine giving it less than 5 stars. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because this tube as full as you can get it lasts between 3 1/2 to 4 hours. That's more then enough for bbq'ing but it's far from ideal for cold smoking salmon, fish or oysters. I am using alder pellets and again the tube falls a bit short on length of time before reloads.If you like to cold smoke anything like fish that takes 18 to 24 hours, I would suggest buying the bigger smoke boxes.This is a great product. The smoke it creates is very thick and intense.
