The size is good and the sounds were great but this is NOT a sturdy toy. If your child likes to have car crashes this is not the toy for them. It is NOT remote controlled so I am unsure why that is a part of the rating. The hose works great and the drive feature is cute but not very powerful and stopped working in no time. Once the sound and lights stop that's the end as I see no way to change batteries or anything. Also the headlights are very breakable. My 3 yr old broke them accidently with regular play. We race it against a police cruiser - truck always loses but it's fast and makes it about 35 feet before it's usually stopped by the wall. Great fun. Our toddler is now 3 years old and still plays with it. It is still falling off the coffee table but it has held up very well. This was one of the best purchases we have made. The whole family (adults included) loves this firetruck. We have no complaints and I continue to recommend it.Original review: Purchased for 18 month old and he loves this truck. He loves to chase it across the room and continues to play with it 8 months later. The siren, lights and features make this a great toy. The truck has fallen off the coffee table, been stood on, sat on and carried by the hose. My little guy is an active toddler and has tested the durability of this fire truck. It is still going strong. He did manage to break off a piece of the ladder but it hasn't affected the toy at all. We replace the batteries periodically but the truck seems to go quite awhile before we need to change them.
