I have a Scottie and Scotties don't drool so they don't tend to have bad breath or doggy breath that i have noticed. At least mine doesn't. **Q: are there bones in them i need to watch my dog with?** A: There are but not sharp. It’s the whole fish but I’m comfortable giving it to my little dogs even little Pomeranian. They love them. If it bothers you they’re easy to break into pieces but we give them whole. There are little ones and slightly larger. The larger tend to be softer. **Q: How many are in each bag?** A: I haven’t counted, but quite a few- 25 or 30 I would guess. The fish are small , but good treats for mini dachshunds. **Q: Are these treats okay for puppies?** A: How old/big is your puppy? These are great especially if your pup/dog has dry skin. They are a good size, at about 3-4 inches. My pups are 7 months and over 50lbs. I started giving them dehydrated fish when they were about 4 months. I started with Plato Baltic Sprat, they're a little smaller. Fish is one of my little baby's favorites and this does not disappoint! She will do anything to get one. It is like a doggy Klondike bar, "what will do for a herring" LOL tell me you did not sing the jingle? Anyways it goes beyond this product. Icelandic+ has amazing treats. Nia will flip if she just sees their logo. Yes they smell like dried fish. Some have criticized that they stink, but they should smell like fish. They are a whole herring and a big treat for little dogs or a little treat for big dogs. They crunch like a cracker so no teeth will get hurt and the bones, if they are actually still in there, crunch the same way so no sharp edges. Oh and all of their products are from the waters of Iceland where even their pet food standards are way higher than the USA.
