They are beautiful and sturdy, though not too heavy for a stoneware (which I find to be the case sometimes with stoneware). They are the perfect width and shape for the one-dish dinners I cook and I love the beautiful colors. Already washed in the dishwasher a few times and the bowls held up great! But they are way too easily chipped. Most of mine are chipped now, and one is totally broken.
