I used double sided Gorilla Tape to adhere the metal backing plate to the tile. Works perfectly, but be VERY careful attaching the magnet side, it snapped out of my fingers and hit the tile really hard, it didn't break but it sure could have. I have a set of 10 knives on mine with two large chefs knives. **Q: Would it be possible to mount this to tile with adhesive rather than screws?** A: Yes, this is how I mounted my 16 inch with. The command heavy duty 16lb adhesives were perfect for this, they're velcro and strong. I used two on each side.
