As for organic, the meaning of "organic" used in regards to fertilizers and soil is not the same as with food. With food, "certified organic" means it was grown according to clearly specified rules. With fertilizers and soil, no such certification is involved. It means that the contents are, or once were, living organisms, as opposed to things like metals or plastics and lab created chemicals. So "OMRI" is what you're looking for if you are going to use a soil, fertilizer, or amendment with plants intended to produce food you would want to be able to certify as organic. **Q: Is this water soluble and can it be added to Compost tea** A: It will not completely dissolve in water but the nutrients will leach from the kelp into the water and it makes a nutritious and dependable compost tea. **Q: What is the shelf life I'd like to buy in bulk but don't want to waste it.** A: I have mine for a year and worked great this spring like the first day I used. Measured 180 ppm TDS just for the water. 2314 ppm for the total. So this product has alot of sodium. I have been told that an excess of sodium will prevent nutrient take up.
